BASIC CONSTRUCTION:
The PerMix PTS Series Ploughshare Mixer consists of a centrally mounted horizontal shaft that rotates within a cylindrical chamber, blade-shaped mixing elements that are attached to the centrally mounted shaft, special openings at the top for feeding materials, a recessed access door at the front of the mixer, a discharge valve mounted at the bottom of the mixer that is pneumatically or manually operated, and a complete drive unit.
PROCESS:
The mixing chamber of the ploughshare mixer is filled with 30% to 70% capacity, which allows for the dispersion of individual particles in the main area of the mixer. The ploughshare-shaped mixing elements produce intense axial and radial movement, causing the product to move in the mixing area. The shape and angle, together with the adjustment and rotation of the mixing elements and the mixing drum, cause the product to lift from the surface of the drum wall. The product is automatically discharged during the operation of the machine, which prevents segregation.
LABORATORY AND PILOT MODELS:
PerMix is able to offer laboratory and pilot scale ploughshare mixers for R&D purposes. The small size machine is very helpful for customers when R&D ingredients are expensive and allow for budget limit at the first stage.
Due to the good workmanship of the laboratory and pilot mixer, it can be easily scaled up to medium or even larger.
SPECIAL DESIGN WITH CHOPPERS:
enables the breaking up of agglomerates/lumps and also speeds up the mixing process. Together with the mixing element, the PerMix side chopper removes lumps in the starting product, breaks up paste-like adhesives and impedes the formation of agglomerates during the wetting of powdered substances. The PerMix side chopper is independently driven by its own motor.
VACUUM DRYER-MIXER:
With some special modifications – for example, a heating jacket of the mixing tank, a mechanical shaft seal, a special segmented discharge valve, a dust filter, a temperature control system – the PerMix PTS series ploughshare mixer can be used as a multi-stage process machine, eliminating the need for additional specialist equipment. It can be used as a vacuum mixer, mixer-granulator, degasser, reactor and cooler.
– Different types of mixing elements
PerMix mainly supplies two types of mixing elements: blade (for PTS mixer) and paddle (for PTP mixer). Both have their advantages: the blade-shaped element shortens the mixing time and can easily penetrate dense powder or paste, while the paddle element requires less energy consumption and can handle viscous slurry materials.
-Continuous process
PerMix supplies continuous mixers where high hourly throughput is required for the same material. Continuous paddle mixers differ from batch mixers in that the mass flow of the product is from the chamber inlet to the discharge at the opposite end.
– Heating/Cooling Jacket
Jacketed chamber for heating/cooling with steam, thermal oil or water. Optional ASME/PED certification for high pressure operation.
-Drive
Drive system by gear motor, cycloidal reducer, worm reducer, belt or chain transmission, etc.
– Product feeding and unloading
Customers can choose different methods to feed and discharge the product. The discharge port can be operated manually or pneumatically.
- Access door
Access doors can be designed to be easy to clean, inspect and maintain.
- Spray nozzle
Liquid can be added to the powder using spray nozzles on a pipe installed on top of the mixing chamber. The necessary pump and tank can also be supplied by PerMix.
– Advanced machine foundations
PerMix mixer outlet spacing is available according to customer requirements, with extended machine bases, pipe frames, platform etc.
-Construction material
We are able to offer mixers with parts in contact with the product made of carbon steel, stainless steel AISI 304, AISI 316 / 316L, titanium, stainless steel Duplex, Hastelloy etc. For abrasive materials we offer hardened steel as the part in contact with the product or the mixing elements can be coated with materials such as tungsten carbide or equivalent. We also produce mixers completely built of stainless steel to meet high hygiene requirements.

- Wet slurry mixing: resuspension of filter cake, cake, glass fiber resin cake putty
