PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:
PerMix PRB ribbon mixer consists of one electric motor, one gear box and shaft with double ribbons placed in a U-shaped chamber. The outer and inner ribbons are designed in such a way that the powder materials are pushed from the center to the two ends of the chamber and simultaneously from the ends to the center; besides, the powder materials are lifted along the edge of the ribbon and then fall down under the influence of gravity. In such a three-dimensional way, all the powder can be quickly mixed in the chamber. The process requires a short mixing time and relatively low energy consumption.
The shaft is sealed by a gland with multiple PTFE seals (sometimes with a gland ring for venting) at both ends. Materials are loaded from the top and the discharge valve is located at the bottom center of the chamber. The discharge height can be adjusted as required so that the material is discharged into the container below it without raising dust.
SPECIAL DESIGN OF MOTORIZED TILTING:
PerMix designed a special function for food products (salad mixing) with a tilting mechanism to discharge the products. The machine is built entirely of stainless steel for cleaning in wash mode, the top cover with a counterweight for easy manual opening.
OPTIONAL FEATURES:
– Ribbon (3 types available)
We offer different types of mixing ribbons for different applications. The standard ribbon is for general mixing, with a center discharge; For sticky material, an intermittent ribbon is applied; The continuous ribbon is used for continuous operation with feeding from one side and discharge from the other.
- Material
We are able to offer ribbon mixers with parts in contact with the product made of carbon steel, stainless steel AISI304, AISI316/316L, titanium, stainless steel Duplex, Hastelloy, etc. For abrasive materials we offer hardened steel for parts in contact with the product. We also manufacture ribbon mixers made entirely of stainless steel to meet high hygiene requirements.

Drive system by gear motor, cycloidal reducer, worm reducer, belt or chain transmission, etc.
– Heating/cooling jacket
Jacketed chamber for heating/cooling
- Spray nozzle
Liquid can be added to the powder via spray nozzles mounted on the top.
- Continuous work
We can supply machines for continuous operation when high hourly output is required for the same material.
– Customized product feeding and unloading
Customers can choose from a variety of feeding and unloading methods. A bag dump station can be mounted on top of the U-shaped chamber for product feeding. A safety grid can be installed to prevent worker injury. Manual, pneumatic or motorized valves can be selected for product unloading, according to customer preferences. Our ribbon mixers are designed to easily fit into any existing production line.
– Vacuum drying and de-aeration
The mixer can be designed for vacuum drying and deaeration for special applications.
-Enlarged base
The height of our ribbon mixer can be defined depending on the customer's room conditions.
– Sandblasted outer body
In the case of stainless steel mixers, the external parts may be sandblasted.
