PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:
During operation of the PerMix PMS Series Multi Shaft Mixer (Homogenizer), the high shear mixer provides high shear to disperse and disperse materials while the low shear mixer maintains a continuous feed of product to the high shear mixer during mixing while scraping and raking away bulk material from the mixer walls and surrounding areas.
The PerMix PMS series multi-shaft mixer stands out from other mixers due to the innovative idea of combining different mixing elements of the agitators, which makes it very versatile for a wide range of applications. The combination of two low-speed agitators (anchor/frame scraper-mixer and spiral/screw mixer) with a high-speed emulsifier/homogenizer (or dispersing disc or both) provides the following benefits:
- Increased grinding, dispersion and emulsification of the crushed mass
- Stable, homogeneous end product with excellent granulation
- Extremely short production cycles
- Possibility of producing cold emulsions when installing the PerMix Stator/Rotor element (so-called homogenizer), which leads to significant energy savings
VACUUM DEAERATION:
The intensive action of the elements ensures not only thorough mixing of the product, but also its exposure to the vacuum prevailing in the tank. Air bubbles in the mixed product constantly rise to the surface, burst under the influence of the vacuum and are discharged by the vacuum pump.
The ongoing degassing process increases the chemical stability of the product and prevents undesirable chemical reactions such as oxidation, ensures greater measurement precision from filling machines, accelerates emulsion formation and produces a pleasant, smooth and shiny end product.
HYGENIC DESIGN COMPLIANT WITH GMP:
The PerMix PMS series multi-shaft mixer is manufactured in accordance with the principles of good manufacturing practice (GMP). The device has no dead zones, which eliminates any possible residues in such places. All parts in contact with the product are made of acid-resistant steel and are easily accessible for inspection and removal. The entire device or its parts can be steam sterilized (SIP system) or washed in the CIP system.
HEATING AND COOLING JACKET:
The double jacket has connections for water, steam or thermal oil. Instrumentation adapted to work with the working pressure required by the customer. Installed plate partitions between the tank and the jacket walls which improve heat transfer and reduce heating and cooling times. A complete and fully functional temperature control system, which can be easily connected to power, water and steam, is available at an additional cost. Measuring instruments are supplied with each mixer. These include a thermometer, vacuum gauge and pressure gauge.
APPLICATION:
PerMix PMS series multi shaft mixer serves a wide range of industries, such as pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. It can be used to produce emulsions, ointments, lotions, pastes, creams, suppository compounds, eyeliners, makeup, shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste, etc., in the food industry, for example, for the production of ketchup, mayonnaise, salad dressings, cream cheese, various concentrates, etc. In the chemical industry, for the production of shoe polish, sealants, car cleaning agents, suspensions, etc. In the food industry, PerMix PVC series vacuum homogenizing mixers have the same functions as PerMix PMS series multi shaft mixers
