PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:
During the mixing process, two vertically mounted mixing tools rotate. In addition, they rotate at a higher speed around their own axes, according to the planetary principle. The pendulum scraper continuously sweeps the inner wall, transporting material from the tank walls to the mixing arms and efficiently transferring heat.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Standard mixers are designed to work "on an overlapping basis", thus causing strong axial and radial movements in the mixed product, as well as a very intensive shearing and dispersing effect. In a short time, the material is thoroughly mixed and even very difficult recipes can be obtained.
A quick locking device for the vat connects the tank to the mixer. Since the tank is mounted on fixed and swivel wheels, it is very easy to transport. The standard version of the PerMix PDP series double planetary mixer is equipped with double shafts equipped with heavy-duty ball bearings. Both the mixing tools and the scrapers can be supplied with a special bayonet locking system for easy dismantling. The upper head of the machine is lifted by manual, mechanical or hydraulic lifting systems, depending on the size of the machine.
TEFC single speed electric motors are the standard drive units supplied with the PerMix PDP series double planetary mixer. Explosion proof motors and switches are also available. Among the many options available for special applications are: stepless speed control, two speed drives, hydraulic drive units, heating/cooling jackets, vacuum/pressure operation, etc.
OPTIONS:
PerMix designs the twin shaft planetary mixer according to the customer's specific requirements and applications. Some of the modifications include:
– For mixed products that need to be heated or cooled, PerMix has designed jacketed tanks for hot oil, electric heating, steam heating and liquid cooling.
– PerMix has designed mobile and tiltable mixing tanks, with or without bottom drain valve for lower viscosity liquids and units with a special dead-zone-free valve for connection to peripheral equipment. The machine can be transported by forklift or crane.
– If required, changes can be made to the shape of the mixing tools; a third mixing tool can be added; a homogenizer module (with deflector) can be supplied and for special applications other mixing elements with proven performance can be supplied.
– The PerMix disperser for fine dispersion, with its own drive unit, available with constant or variable speed, has proven to be a good process accelerator for special dispersions.
