PerMix PTP paddle mixers are an innovative design derived from the well-known plow mixers (or blade mixers, plough mixers). The mixer provides the same mixing efficiency as the blade mixer but requires significantly less energy consumption. Due to the lower rotational speed of the blades, the wear of the blade mixing element is also less than with blades. In addition, PerMix paddle mixers have better performance with viscous/sticky materials such as slurries, because the blade-shaped mixing elements tend to stick to sticky materials, while the blades do not. Compared to conventional ribbon mixers, paddle mixers are superior because they can mix the material more aggressively while maintaining similar energy consumption.
The main difference between our PTP Paddle Mixer and the PTS Ploughshare Mixer is the mixing element: the PTS mixer uses a blade-shaped element, while the PTP mixer uses a paddle element. PerMix PTP Paddle Mixers can be used anywhere that ploughshare mixers are used, including but not limited to mixing, thorough mixing, dispersing, suspending, emulsifying, deaerating, working under temperature, accelerating chemical or physical reactions, granulating, breaking up agglomerates, etc.
Both paddle and blade mixers are “aggressive mixers” that are well suited for high mixing ratio processes up to 1:1,000,000, which means that a single 1 ppm sample of batch volume can still contain the proper mix of ingredients. PerMix designs a full range of paddle mixers, including lab size (full 5 l) and plot size (up to full 45 l) models for R&D purposes. The small size of the machine is very helpful for customers when ingredient R&D is expensive, thus helping our customers save limited budget at the first stage. With the good performance of lab and pilot mixer, it is easy to scale up to medium or even larger size. There are various optional features such as different types of mixing elements, continuous operation, heating/cooling jacket, feeding and discharging, access door, construction material, drive system, extended machine bases, spray nozzle.
With some special modifications, the PerMix PTP series paddle mixer can be used as a multi-stage process vessel, eliminating the need for additional specialized equipment. It can be used as a mixer-dryer, mixer-granulator, degasser, reactor and cooler.
