Introduction:
PerMix Single Shaft Fluidized Zone Mixer, similar to Twin Shaft Fluidizing Zone Mixer, is a high-speed, high-capacity, low/zero shear mixer, which can also be known as Fluidizing Mixer, Fluidized Zone Mixer, Non-gravity Mixer or Zero-gravity Mixer and Fluidizing Paddle Mixers
Fluidized Zone Mixer / Single & Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer is used to prepare a homogeneous mixture, regardless of particle size, shape and density. When a small amount of powder or liquid additives needs to be added to bulk material, Fluidized Bed Mixer / Single or Twin Shaft Paddle Mixers are able to achieve fast and precise mixing with high efficiency.
How a Single Shaft Fluid Bed Mixer Works
PerMix PFB and PFBS Series Fluid Bed Mixer / Single or Twin Shaft Paddle Mixer The gravity-free mixer consists of paddles with special angles that are mounted on shafts in a "U" or "W" shaped trough.
During operation, the shafts rotate at high speed, and in double shaft units, they rotate in opposite directions. The blades sweep the entire bottom of both troughs and the materials are lifted, floating between the shafts (as a zero gravity zone) by the centrifugal force generated by the blades.
In this weightless zone, mixing materials of different densities is easy and fast because the material particles can move freely and randomly, regardless of particle size and density. This ensures fast and highly homogeneous mixing.
Advantages and Features of Single Shaft Fluid Bed Mixer
- Ultra-fast mixing with typical mixing times from 10 seconds to just 1 minute
- Free movement of particles
- Minimal heat and low shear for shear and heat sensitive materials (Due to the fact that low friction without shear is generated in this zero gravity zone, the PerMix PFB series fluid bed mixer/twin shaft paddle mixer is the ideal machine for delicate products that do not tolerate rough handling, even flakes or spray dried solids remain intact after mixing.)
- Easy to clean and hygienic design with minimal dead zones
- Low maintenance requirements
- Large chamber door for fast unloading and reduced segregation
- Adding liquids using spray balls, nozzles or tubes
- The leading edges of the webs can be coated with tungsten carbide for highly abrasive materials.
- Intensive clod-breaking choppers
- Various drive systems (single engine/chain transmission; dual engine/transmission, single engine with dual transmission)
