The ProCepT SD1 Spray Dryer is a device for formulation and process development purposes as well as for small-scale clinical production. The device is capable of spray drying samples ranging from 0.5 ml to several liters. The equipment is used in preclinical and clinical applications with continuous water processing in the range of 0.1-15 ml/min (0.01-11/h) (higher for organic solvents), with typical batch sizes ranging from 100 mg to several kg of dry product.
The operator can monitor and control every critical process parameter via a touch panel computer. The software provides full data logging with tracks.
During the process there is negative pressure in the process column.
The dryer uses a nitrogen recirculation system to process larger quantities of solvents. Solvents are recovered by means of a condenser system cooled by an external recirculating chiller.
The device monitors the oxygen content.
