TWO PROCESSES - ONE MACHINE The Hegatec BUDDY can be used as a LYOPHILIZER (FREEZE DRYER) or a vacuum dryer. The Hegatec BUDDY covers a wide vacuum range and is suitable for freeze-drying at a pressure of 0.1 mbar and vacuum drying at a pressure of 8 mbar or higher. The Hegatec balances short drying times with energy-efficient drying. Freeze-drying is well suited for gentle drying of deep-frozen products. The low-temperature dehydration process causes ice crystals to sublimate directly into a gaseous state without the intermediate appearance of a liquid phase. Products can also be frozen in the dryer before the drying process begins. After drying, the products retain many of their original properties. Vacuum drying is ideal for heat-sensitive products. The low-temperature thermal separation process removes moisture from wet solids, liquids, or pasty products using negative pressure.
